Man attacked at home
A court heard that when a man answered the door at his flat in Cardigan three men burst in, dragged, punched and kicked him and broke his nose.
Anthony Gene Harman aged 34, of 9 Rhydyfelin, Cardigan and 19-year-old Luke Mitchell, of Tir y Dail, Cwm Degwel, St Dogmaels, were charged with unlawfully and maliciously assaulting Ian Biddyr at The Flat, Grosvenor Hotel, causing him grievous bodily harm.
Harman pleaded not guilty and the bench declined jurisdiction. The case against him was adjourned until May 1 for committal to the crown court.
Mitchell pleaded guilty on the basis that he threw only two punches, a plea not accepted by the prosecution.
The matter against him was adjourned for a Newton hearing.
