Antur Insurance Pembroke County Cricket League Crymych made an encouraging start in Division 4 with a seven-wicket away win against Neyland 2nds and in the process banked 27 points.

Neyland were dismissed for 83 with only Martin Jones (19) and Ashley Sutton (12) reaching double figures. Eurig Lewis snapped two wickets for four runs and Dai Jenkins returned figures of 2 for 26.

As the Preselimen knocked off the runs for the loss of three wickets Robert Nicholas made 25 and Eurig Lewis was unbeaten on 21.

In Division 5 Llechryd 2nds were beaten by ten runs against Herbrandston 2nds. Batting first Herbrandston made 110 with Nathan Banner top scoring with 48 and Dai John hitting a quick fire 26. The visitors were dismissed for 100.

Crymych 2nds made it a double for the club on the opening day by sauntering to a 105 run win over their Hundleton counterparts at Glandy Cross.

The homesters posted a more than useful 160 with Guto Davies scoring heavily all round the wicket in making a fine 67. When the visitors replied Nick Heyward was the only batsman to offer any resistance as he made 43, but the innings closed on 55 with Hugh Davies snapping four wickets for three runs.

The Division Two game between Llechryd and Herbrandston was cancelled due to the wet state of the Castle Malgwyn ground.
