Hearing her dogs barking early in the afternoon, arose Sue Roberston's curiosity as she went to investigate. She was more than surprised to find a rather large looking hedgehog nestled close to some shrubbery at the top of her garden path at her home in Cilgerran.

As any animal loving person would do, she went on to build a fencing barrier around the hedgehog to protect it from her eager dogs. She later discovered that the female hedgehog was hiding two babies.

In the knowledge that the hedgehog family were safe, it was curious that the dogs continued to bark. The following day, the mother hedgehog revealed another surprise, as three more baby hedgehogs appeared.

With a total of six hedgehogs now living in her garden, Sue built a perfect environment for the growing family of wildlife to pick up strength, as the babies are now only two weeks old, until they will be fully prepared to be released back into their natural home-the wild.
