Eco village back before planners

PLANS to build an eco-village' in 76 acres of woodland near Glandwr have been resubmitted to Pembrokeshire County Council this week.

Co-operative developers Lammas have reworked the scheme after being refused planning permission last October. And the new plans are now available online.

Lammas co-founder Paul Wimbush said: "Last time our application was so heavy that we submitted it by wheelbarrow. This time it would have taken two! That is a lot of paper, even if it is recycled. So we made the whole application electronic, and then we had the idea of putting it on our website so that people can see what we are talking about."

The group is proposing to build a low-impact' community of nine eco-smallholdings and a community hub building. The application includes straw bale houses, an earth sheltered house, a clom house, timber roundhouses, turf-roofed barns and an eco-terrace.

The project will be completely off-grid, supplying water from a spring, electricity from a hydro-electric unit and fuel from on-site biomass crops.

I wish you all the best with your planning. Would it be possible if you could send me your web address so I could see your plans for the future.

Good luck

Sarah
