Pony injured in racist attack
A PONY was injured and anti-English slogans were daubed on it stables at a north-Pembrokeshire smallholding - even though its owners are Welsh.
Police are investigating the attack on the pony, which is owned by Alison and David Hayes, who were both born in Wales and moved to the Tegryn area from Cardiff last autumn.
The seven-month-old pony, called Hope, which had a four inch knife slash on its face, was found bleeding by Mrs Hayes.
"This was an incredibly cruel thing to do," she said. "Hope is a beautiful, friendly animal and she was slashed across the face and mouth. Now she is terrified."
The couple planned to open a stables.
Mrs Hayes added: "The motivation of these people was ridiculous and to take it out on an innocent horse was wicked. The only thing I can think is that people may have mistaken our Cardiff accents for English."
Police have appealed for anyone who may have information about the attack to contact them on 0845 330 2000.

There’s something very dodgy about this. What you fail to inform us in that story is that the words painted on that shed do not say “English Out”. The words “Cai Maes Sais” are in fact total gibberish - it means nothing in Welsh.
“Cai” is not eve a word
“Maes” means field
“Sais” means Englishman
Whoever wrote that graffiti was most certaintly not a welsh-speaker and very unlikely a welsh nationalist (what self-respecting Welsh nash doesn’t know how to say “English Out” in Welsh!
Interesting enough if you put “Get Out Englishman” into the notoriously awful IntraTran online translator it comes out as “Cai Maes Sais”.

I have no idea why anyone would want to fake a welsh nash attack. Whatever the true motive, it is so dissapointing that the media don’t realise the writing is not Welsh and just assumes the woman is right in saying it means “English Out”. If they had checked their facts a little better they would have avoided inflamaing matters and turning people against Welsh speakers and nationalists.

Who could do such a thing to that poor horse ?
Also that gibberish written on that woman's shed .Who could do that ?
Mistake a Cardiff accent for English ?Anybody heard Charlotte Church speak?I'm very sorry for your horse Madam but you need more evidence than that which you present in order to incriminate anyone .

Sorry Chris, maybe because my welsh isn't great (rhigl) I'd have said Cai was welsh for close.
i'd also remind you even in Wales we have stupid people - remember those folks who attacked a paediatrician
Stop blaming the por victim!
