Assault man fined

A jobless 48-year-old man who punched and kicked another man on a farm at Glynarthen told police he did not know how he got to the location.

David Graham Lewis, of Top Flat, Montana, Graig Road, Llandysul, who was represented by Peter Martin, pleaded guilty to a charge of assaulting Thomas Kevin Owens by beating at Erw Las on March 29.

Prosecutor David Wheale said that when Mr. Owens arrived at the property he was confronted by Lewis who set about him and shouted "I'm going to kill you."

Maureen Mary Hird told police "I saw Dai punch Kevin several times."

Mr. Martin said that Lewis, who had a long list of previous convictions, accepted that he was the aggressor and was disappointed he was once again in court on a violence matter.

"This was a one off incident. He simply lost control and is ashamed of his behaviour," he said.

He was fined £100, ordered to pay £75 compensation to his victim, £75 costs and £15 government surcharge.

Before leaving court he told the magistrates "Thank you, but I think you have robbed me."
