A MAN from Birmingham has denied concealing more than £40,000 alleged to have been made from the sale of drugs in Ceredigion.

Omar Yafai, 35, of Camelot Way in Birmingham, was charged with concealing criminal property, relating to bank transfers worth a total of £43,680.50 from one of his co-defendants – Lee Gallagher – between October 31, 2019 and January 28, 2021.

The prosecution allege this money was from the sale of Class A drugs in Ceredigion.

Yafai, represented by David Singh, pleaded not guilty.

His co-defendants, Gallagher and Ethan Bablak-Land had appeared at Swansea Crown Court on September 27.

Bablak-Land, now 20, of Cryfryn Row in Aberystwyth, admitted conspiring to supply cocaine between December 2021 and January 2022 and offering to supply LSD between November 2021 and January 2022.

He also pleaded guilty to charges of being concerned in the supply of cocaine (a Class A drug), cannabis and ketamine (both Class B drugs) between October 2021 and January 2022.

Gallagher, 36, of Penmaesglas Road in Aberystwyth, pleaded not guilty to conspiring to supply cocaine between December 2021 and January 2022, being concerned in the supply of cocaine between the March 19 and 30, 2021, and possessing cocaine on March 31, 2021.

A trial for Gallagher and Yafai will be held from January 31, 2024. Bablak-Land will be sentenced after the conclusion of the trial.

All three defendants have been granted bail.
